OCT 18th 2007 Channel
4
On Wed the 24th October channel 4 will be
showing a documentory on MJ.
The program is once again another slice of
tabloid T.V. trash. We have complained to channel 4 because
of the fact they are in the middle of showing programs relating
to Black History Month.
This is article is from their own web site,
Black History Month (BHM) is a constant reminder of black
achievement in world history and culture. BHM 2007 foregrounds
stories of success and achievement that challenge common
perceptions of Black people. It transgresses received views
of what Black success is supposed to mean, and how it should
be measured. The Black men and women featured have succeeded
in areas where odds were stacked against them.
So with this in mind why show a negative program
on the worlds number one entertainer.
This is Channel 4's reply to my letter,
Dear Christian,
Thank you for your email concerning MICHAEL
JACKSON: AFTER THE VERDICT
We were sorry to read that you object to aspects
of this documentary and we have noted the fact that you
felt it was unsuitable for broadcast, we would like to advise
that this programme delves deeper than any other programme
and tells the story of Michael Jackson in a way never seen
before.
An important part of Channel 4's remit, set
out in the Broadcasting Act 1990, is to include programmes
calculated to appeal to tastes and interests not generally
catered for by ITV, and to encourage innovation and experiment
in the content of programmes. Although this does not solicit
the transmission of programmes which will be viewed as offensive,
it does mean that occasional programmes may contain material
which might not be to the taste of some viewers.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact
us. We appreciate all
feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise.
Regards,
Joe Fitzpatrick

OCT 16th 2007 Los
Angeles judge orders Michael Jackson to pay law
firm $175,000
LOS ANGELES - A judge has ordered Michael
Jackson to pay $175,000 in overdue fees to a law firm that
sued the pop singer.
Superior Court Judge James Chalfant's order
means Jackson's legal bill to the firm, Ayscough and Marar,
now totals more than $430,000. The firm sued Jackson in
February 2006, claiming he did not pay for services it rendered
on his behalf.
The firm said it had obtained court orders
to delay discovery in civil cases and kept information from
being released during the singer's 2005 child-molestation
trial, according to the lawsuit.
In July, Chalfant said Jackson would have
to pay the law firm $256,000 for unpaid fees. Jackson's
lawyers have appealed that judgment.
Monday's award compensates the law firm for
having to hire a lawyer to sue Jackson. The firm had asked
for nearly $450,000.
Jackson countersued the firm last year, claiming
that one of the firm's lawyers threatened to expose confidential
information about him to the media.
Chalfant dismissed Jackson's suit, saying
it lacked merit.
The law firm, located in Torrance, also helped
defend Jackson against a lawsuit brought by former business
associate Marc Schaffel, claiming the singer owed him $1.4
million for past work.
A jury last year awarded Schaffel $900,000,
but directed him to pay Jackson $200,000 to satisfy a countersuit
alleging Schaffel misappropriated funds.
Jackson, 49, was acquitted of the molestation
charges.

Jackson Breaks Silence,
Remembers Marcel Marceau
When France's renowned mime Marcel Marceau
died last month at age 84, many fans remembered his close
connection with Michael Jackson, a Marceau admirer, even erroneously
attributing The King of Pop's signature Moonwalk dance to
the mime's influence.
In a Jet exclusive interview, Jackson shared
how much in awe he was of the performer, how "he would
defy the laws of gravity." The two developed a friendship
over the last several decades.
However, while he "learned a lot"
from Marceau, Jackson said his Moonwalk step, popularized
in 1983, was intstead inspired by "watching the great
rhythmic wonderful black children dance around the world."
Nevertheless, Marceau was one of his inspirators,
Jackson said in his first magazine interview in nearly a decade
"He was a great guy. I used to go and see Marcel Marceau
all the time, before Off The Wall," Jackson said, with
a smile. "I used to sneak in and sit in the audience
and watch how he would defy the laws of gravity, like he was
stepping on air."
Jackson said that he would later use of the
mime's magical movements in his own dance routines. "I
would take some of those things and include it into rhythm
and dance when I moved," he said
Marceau died in the Southwestern France town
of Cahors on Sept. 22. He had retired from the stage in 2005

05th OCT 2007 Michael
Jackson
In the shadows of love
I have known Michael Jackson since the late
70s.
Andy Warhol asked me to photograph a group
of boys called the JACKSON FIVE for the magazine INTERVIEW.
They were with their guardian in a New York hotel. Their guardian
was an elegant lady, almost as one of the actors from the
George Cukor-movie "The Women".
When I began to shoot the photos, Michael
and his brothers were having a pillowfight, and she tried
to make them behave like gentlemen. Michael did not sit -
the only thing that interested him, was to read the newspaper
and look up the reviews (of their concerts).
That was almost 30 years ago. Since then I have had the opportunity
to meet his charming sister Janet, and to achieve great friends
in the manager of Muhammad Ali, Bernie Yuman, the movie director,
Brett Ratner, and the lady beyond description, Elizabeth Taylor.
As years has past, Michael and I have spoken of doing a photosession,
but we never carried it out untill now, because our busy lives
have carried us to different parts of the world. Luckily,
this time we find us both in New York city at the same time.
I wanted to photograph Michael now, instead of sending him
a note of gratitude, explaining him, how his singing and dancing
had been marked as a one of the many celebrations in my life,
along the likes of new infatuations, buying the car of my
dreams, having a new dog, photographing my family or even
going out with friends for a few beers. If I had to count
the number of times Michael's music has given life to the
photographs I have taken, it would be thousands. Accompanied
by the rhythm and soul of his music, I have finished so many
photos, that I ran out of spools and broke several cameras.
So Michael, accept my gratitude. Because you have a great
place in the hearts of many people. As they say in the street
"Michael is here and we got to go see!" Listen to
the rhythm, and let us take some photos to see, if we yet
again will land on the moon.
